Our Development Philosophy
Programs General

Caucasus Hope Partnership is part of a network of development centers working around the world.  We involve local community leaders as well as those who are disenfranchised in identifying their greatest needs.  Together, we determine and implement the best solutions to those needs.  Caucasus Hope Partnership pursues participatory development with the goal of transforming society.  Team members are not experts, but knowledge-workers, providing ideas and solutions through access to information and resources the community might not have otherwise.

In order to authentically connect with the people, field teams live within the community and learn their language and culture first.  Our teams desire to serve from the highest motivation:  love.

We have been encouraged to, "love your neighbor as yourself," and when we live in the midst of impoverished people, we must look to their physical needs first in the context of pursing their ultimate good.  In most cases, this means that we should help communities by partnering with them to develop sustainable solutions.

Please explore the areas of community development under our Programs menu to learn more about the exciting possibilities.

Microenterprise
Economy

Microenterprise programs are small investment or innovations which enable local entrepreneurs to pursue some form of economic livelihood.

Gas Cylinder Distributorship:

In Pankisi, cooking depends upon gas cylinders, however, the nearest supply is many miles away.  With just a small loan, a local distributorship could be established to provide cylinder exchange while leveraging economies of scale for a small profit.

Education
Education

Education of a community's youth often determines a community's future.  From basic skills like literacy and mathematics to ESL courses, we can make a contribution.

English Camp 101

The Kists of Pankisi have asked for teacher to come and teach their youth how to speak and read English.  During the summer months, we could bring in volunteers from the U.S. for a series of brief English camps for Kist children.

Public Health
Health

Public health is generally lacking in much of the developing world.  Simple practices can maintain healthy citizens who can work, learn and serve their communities.

Childhood Vaccination Clinic:

A health clinic in Pankisi could be the first step in improving the health of the Kists and would provide an opportunity for children to receive regular vaccinations from avoidable diseases.  Do you have the skills to build, train or equip us for the task?

Infrastructure
Infrastructure

Infrastructure programs include water, sanitation, utilities and roads and provide the foundation for a healthy society and a prosperous economy.

The Clean Water Project

The villages of Pankisi depend upon water piped directly from a nearby river without any treatment.  Clean water could be obtained from a protected source farther upstream and properly surveyed and installed pipes would improve distribution.
